The Orphans released their 2008 schedule today and are looking forward to
building on a successful 2007. The Orphans made their 2nd consecutive
trip to the State Tournament in 2007 and are looking to make it 3 straight.
The schedule makers came up with a challenging start to the '08 season for
the Orphans. The O's will take on perennial Class C power Maple Plain right
out of the gates and will play State Champions from both classes in the first
two weeks of the season in Plato and Miesville. Other highlights include a
back-to-back showdown with Buffalo in early June and a weekend in late
June that has the Lakers of Maple Lake and the DC Saints both visiting
Howard Lake.

The North Star League has added two teams to the league in 2008
with Elk River and Big Lake joining. The league also decided to
realign the divisions, with B & C teams now grouped into divisions.
The Orphans will remain in the Western division with Buffalo,
Kingston, Monticello and Class B teams DC and Maple Lake.
